OC Kids Consignment Sale - How To Tag Your Items Print E-mail

Supplies Needed:

*Hangers (children/adult hangers)
*Safety pins/ tagging gun
*Clear tape
*Ziploc bags (if needed)
*White card stock 110 lb paper (for printing out price tags)

Creating and Printing Tags:

How to Add Tags To Your Inventory:

1. First go to http://www.ockidsconsignment.com and click on the link on our home page that says "LOGIN".

 

2. It will then bring you to the sign in page where you will be prompted to put your consignor number and your password to login to your account.

 

3. Once you are there you will see links to the left side of your page. Click on the link that says "work with consigned inventory".

 

4. From there it will bring you to your account inventory page and you can start adding your items.

 

5. First you will chose from the CATEGORY drop down menu and chose what category your item will be in. For example if it is toys you will mark toys or if it is an outfit you will mark (boys or girls) clothing.

 

6. Next if you are selling clothing you will chose the SIZE drop down menu beneath the CATEGORY there you will be able to chose the size range the clothing will fall under.

 

7. Under that you can write a short description in the DESCRIPTION box (for example: Pink Gymboree T-Shirt, or Gap Denim Jeans). If you need more room you can also use the DESCRIPTION 2 box underneath.

 

8. You will then go down to the PRICE box where you will be able to chose what price you want to charge for each item.

 

9. Next to that will be the QTY box which allows you to add more than one tag at a time if you are selling multiple items with the same price and description.

 

10. Lastly you have the option of checking the CHECK TO DISCOUNT or CHECK TO DONATE boxes on each one of your tags. If you wanted to discount your item on our discount day which means if you would like your item to be 50% off on Sunday (the last day of our sale) you will check this box. If you do not want to discount your items on the last day of the sale you will leave this box unchecked. You can also choose to DONATE your items after the sale is over. If you DO NOT want to pick your items up after the sale is over and you would like us to donate them to our charity then you will check this box. Do not check these boxes unless you want to DISCOUNT or DONATE your items.

11. After that you will click SUBMIT ITEM and the item will be added into your inventory online. Continue this same process until you have added tags for every one of your items you will be selling.

12. If you do not see all the items you are adding in your inventory then you will want to check the box that says "By default, only the last 5 items entered show. Check here to display all items" then it will show you all your items below you have added.

13. There are also boxes below that allow you to DELETE ITEMS such as selected or multiple items as well as DISCOUNT OR DONATE buttons that will allow you to mark all your items discounted or donated if you chose to do so before you print your tags. All items must be in increments of 0.50 for example you cannot price anything at $5.99 it will have to be $6.00 or $6.50 etc...

14. After you are done creating your tags you can click the button I'M FINISHED FOR NOW. Then it will bring you back to your account page.

How to Print Tags From Your Inventory:

1. First go to http://www.ockidsconsignment.com and click on the link on our home page that says "LOGIN".

2. It will then bring you to the sign in page where you will be prompted to put your consignor number and your password to login to your account.

3. Once you are there you will see links to the left side of your page. Click on the link that says "work with consigned inventory".

4. Then you will select the link that says either PRINT ALL TAGS or PRINT SELECTED TAGS you can either print them all at once or you can print the individually if you have already printed some previously.

5. If you selected to PRINT ALL TAGS then you should see a new tab or window appear that says CONSIGNOR TAGS with your tags (6 to a page) show up and they will all be there to be able to print them all at once.

6. Make sure BEFORE you print your tags that there is a BAR CODE on each tag that is clear and legible because we CAN NOT accept items that do not have bar codes on them. If there is NO bar code on your tags in the CONSIGNOR TAGS window you will either need to 1. Disable your pop-up blocker on your internet or 2. Use INTERNET EXPLORER and NOT FIREFOX as sometimes consignors have problems printing in FIREFOX. For all Apple or Mac computer users you will need to scale your tags to make them larger because Apple computers tend to print the tags very small so we cannot scan the items with our bar code system. Each tag needs to be about 3 INCHES or larger in order to work with our bar code system.

7. Once you have printed your tags you can close the CONSIGNOR TAGS window.

8. Now you will be able to cut your tags and either securely Safety pin, Tag Gun, or Tape your tags on each one of your items. Make sure you do not tape directly over the bar code on your items as sometimes that makes it hard for checkout because it will not scan.

9. If you are hanging your clothes make sure the hanger looks like a Question Mark ?? and is facing the left way when lying flat.

 

 


10. All shoes and smaller items can either be put into baggies or securely taped or held together.

Discount: means that your item will be able to be sold for 50% off on Sunday but full price the first 2 days. All you have to do is click the Discount Box on the tagging program to show which items you want to be discounted on that day.

Donate: means that you Do Not want to pick up your unsold items prior to the sale and you would rather have us donate them to the Charity of our choice if they are not sold. You have to just click the Donate box on our tagging program if you decide to do so.

Once finished you will then print all your tags 6 to a page on card stock paper. We prefer consignors to use 110lb paper so it will be extra strong to stay put and not rip. This paper is sold at any office supply store or Target & Wal-Mart.

Pricing:

All Consignors can price their own items for the sale but we would like to encourage our consignors to carefully consider the pricing of their items. If your items are priced fairly they will sell and the buyers will continue coming back knowing they are getting great items at bargain prices so it is a win-win for both the consignors and the shoppers. The minimum price of all items being sold is $1.00. And all items must be priced in $0.50 increments (Ex. $2.50, $3.00, $3.50). We recommend that you price them according to what you yourself would pay for them. If you want your items to sell you need to price your items reasonably. Please do not bring items to the sale prices 1-2 dollars less than retail prices they will not sell! If you are going to donate your items after the sale you should maybe consider discounting them on Sunday 50% off day as well.

Tagging Your Items:

After tags are printed you need to cut them and make individual tags for each item. Consignors can use safety pins, a tagging gun and barbs, packaging tape. We found great deals on tagging guns and barbs on Ebay and Bargain Price For You. It will cost less than $10.00 to purchase the gun and supplies including shipping. For the safety of the buyers and small children staples, needles, and straight pins are not accepted.



 

Clothing can be tagged with either a tagging gun or safety pins. Remember that alot of children's clothing is very thin and can make holes very easily so we recommend tagging through the actual size tag or in a seam or thicker area of the clothing. If buyers see that you tagged your items in a place that has created a visible hole there is a good chance they will not buy the item at all. Furniture, Toys, Highchairs, Small Accessories and Anything with a hard surface can be tagged with packaging tape on both sides.*DO NOT TAPE OVER THE BAR CODES!!! Make sure the tag is placed somewhere that will not fall off or damage the item in anyway.

 

Blankets, Bedding, Pillows, Strollers, Bouncers and anything that has soft fabric can be either safety pinned or tagged securely with a tagging gun. Make sure the tag is visible and securely placed on the item.

Loss/Theft & Damages:

 

It is unfortunate, but loss and damages can happen at these types of events. As a consignor you must sign your consignor agreement stating that OC Kids Consignment is not responsible for loss, theft of damage for all items submitted and sold at our sales!
